Archie Barry is an interdisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, Australia. They work to converge language and bodily gestures within a practice of self-portraiture. Through curating ontological spaces between what is and what can be, Barry’s work aims towards envisaging alternate possibilities for ever-evolving architectures of personhood. Over the last year their work has been exhibited at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, The State Library of Victoria and ALASKA Projects, among other spaces. They have written print articles for Art + Australia and Archer magazine and will be undertaking a three-month residency at Phasmid Studio in Berlin later this year. Barry completed a Masters of Contemporary Art at Victorian College of the Arts in 2017.
